英国留学新兴专业——地理信息系统专业

　　MSc Geographical Information Science专业开设在School of Environment and Development学院中。课程中包括5门必修课和17门选修课，其中必修课程为：

　　·Environmental Remote Sensing

　　·Issues in the Management of Information Systems

　　·GISc Foundation - Theory and Practice

　　语言要求雅思7分，其中写作单项不得低于7分。

　　在Geography学院中开设了三个相关专业，包括：

　　MSc Geographical Information Systems

　　MSc Geo–information Science and Earth Observation

　　MSc Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis

　　其中，MSc Geographical Information Systems为Online课程，不适合中国学生申请。

　　MSc Geo–information Science and Earth Observation，学习时间较长，为18个月。这个项目由南安普顿大学与瑞典的Lund大学、波兰的Warsaw大学及其它欧盟国家的大学联合开发，可以提供奖学金。但是对于入学要求较高，最好有相关的工作经验，

　　MSc Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis，12个月的学习时间，课程包括： Computer vision; GIS for analysis of health; GIS for environmental management; GIS for health care management; Global ocean monitoring; Introductory GIS; Introductory remote sensing of the oceans; Remote sensing for earth observation; Remote sensing of the terrestrial environment; Spacecraft engineering; 3D remote sensing等。
